Hand-dyed Shibori Face Masks
This artful, indigo hued mask is sewn from 100% cotton fabric which is hand-dyed in house by team EQUIPE. The Shibori technique is a resist dye method in which fabric is painstakingly folded, pressed and dipped in dye to create unique areas of pigment saturation. This is the same technique we use for our Shibori cotton towels. Each of these masks is unique, like you!
Masks are 2 ply cotton with wire at the bridge of nose for a close and comfy fit, and elastic straps for your ears. Machine or hand washable. Adult Medium size fits earlobe-under nose-to other earlobe measurement of 24-26 cm, neck circumference 28-34 cm.
Put ‘em on when you grocery shop, fill up with gas or otherwise are out and about. Once they’re on, forget about them: no fiddling or touching. My mask protects you, your mask protects me, our masks generate income for those in need.
EQUIPE masks are produced in partnership with Canal Alliance, a San Rafael, California community focused non-profit that champions immigrants who are challenged by a lack of resources and an unfamiliar environment. EQUIPE masks are sewn by home-based sewers in the Canal District in San Rafael generating much needed income during the economic downturn brought on by Covid-19. EQUIPE donates masks for distribution to the Canal Alliance, and other community based social services agencies.
